October is Virginia Wine Month – Come Toast It at Breaux Vineyards

Any wine enthusiast knows that there are reasons to savor a glass during any season…a cold rosé on a hot summer day, a refreshing white at a springtime luncheon, or a velvety Zinfandel by the fire in December. Autumn is an especially great time to enjoy the bounty of the vines, and Virginia’s winemakers understand this too well. That’s why October is Virginia Wine Month, and Breaux Vineyards invites you to celebrate it with us.

As always, our doors will be open for tastings and tours Monday through Thursday from 11am to 5pm, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 6pm. However, Saturday and Sunday, October 19th and 20th, are special days! That’s our weekend-long Harvest Festival, with live music by The Voodoo Blues and Jason Teach, oysters provided by King Street Oyster Bar, and handmade pizzas by 3 Fires Oven. For dessert, try a gourmet candy apple from Tummy YumYum.

October is the ideal time for #VAWineMonth, and Breaux is the ideal setting to enjoy it. The foliage surrounding the vineyard is taking on its amber colors, a crisp breeze is flowing down from the foothills, and the harvest is on!

Virginia Wine Month is more than just a lovely time to enjoy the season’s treasures (as if that weren’t reason enough). It’s an opportunity to learn more about the history and traditions of Virginia winemaking, which stretches back more than four centuries to the first days of the colony’s European settlement. Virginia’s geography and terroir are unique, lending to optimum growing conditions for grape varietals from around the world. Breaux Vineyards’ tasting and tour guides are exceptionally knowledgeable in not only the history of the region’s winemaking, but in the trends that our industry is taking toward the future.

Join us this month at Breaux Vineyards, and raise a glass to Virginia Wine Month, here at one of the most award-winning wineries in the Commonwealth – and the nation. As the seasons change, some things remain constant…the beauty of the Breaux Vineyards setting, the hospitality and expertise of our staff, and, of course, the quality of our craft-made wines. Cheers!
